Refugee Committee

Beaches Presbyterian Church has been actively involved in refugee sponsorship initiatives for many years. Recently, the congregation has sponsored an Iranian couple who fled persecution due to their sexual orientation (2013); a Syrian teenager who fled not only the brutal civil war, but also an abusive family (2017); and a Syrian family of three (2020). Together with a community group, the congregation also co-sponsored a single mother from Syria and her three young children (2017).
