MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... help create new ministries like Cloverdale Korean Church in Surrey, B.C. This church began with the dream of encouraging first and second generation Koreans to use their talents to build the Korean Christian community, and to help and encourage the Korean Christian community to be an important and active part of the local community. Cloverdale's ESL program for Koreans has been very successful, even resulting in new families joining the church! Cloverdale also reaches out to the community through a homeless ministry in the downtown area. Let us pray for Cloverdale as it reaches out to neighbours in the name of Christ.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th, 2011 - Join us for worship and experience a very different service as we gather to look to our future and plan for where we want to be by God's grace. What is the church here for? Who are we here for? What are we passionate about? What does our community and our world need from us? What gifts do we have to share? What brought us here? As with all things, "your presence makes the difference!" Please plan to attend and see the signup poster in the narthex for the pot-luck lunch. Everyone - all ages - is very welcome. See you there with your ideas, excitement and dreams.

and from "Little Johnny"

She started her class by saying "everyone who thinks they are stupid, stand up. After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up. The teacher said, 'Do you think you are stupid?' No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!

Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin board of the ten most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person. 'yes,' said the policeman. 'The detectives want very badly to capture him'. Little Johnny asked, 'why didn't you keep him when you took his picture'?

The Math teacher saw that little Johnny wasn't paying attention in class. She called, 'Johnny, what are 2, 4, 5 and 9? Little Johnny quickly replied, 'NBC, CBS, CBC, and CTV'!

Have a good week, and don't forget, we are back to 10.30 service this Sunday. I will be away for the next two weeks. MB
