MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... help people in Canada connect with long-term mission partners around the world through short-term mission visits. Karen Lye travelled to Malawi with St. Andrew's Coldwater in 2010. In the village of Sakata, a woman whose son is disabled sought Karen out. The woman had heard that Karen works with people who have disabilities and wanted to spend time with her. Speaking different languages, they spent a lot of time just sitting together. Karen writes, "In these moments of silence, I truly felt what it meant to be "present", and a feeling of peace washed over me like I had never experienced before. The song rang in my ears, "Be still for the presence of the Lord is moving in this place." Let us pray for the people whose lives these mission trips continue to transform.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10th, 2011 - Our annual Write for Rights event will be in the narthex from 10:00 am - 11:30am. There will be people to talk to; to help in the writing of letters; there will be coffee and possibly treats. Come along, bring a friend.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: As you all know we are living with a deficit of over $9000.00 - this is much greater than the deficit we had already budgeted. We need to make up that income to allow us time to address the longer term concerns. Our expenses have been close to budget, our income from renters has been close to budget, but our income from givings has been under budget. We passed the budget as a congregation at our AGM last February. The good news is that as of this week we have received $1650.00 towards our goal of $9000.00. Please give this your prayerful consideration.
