MISSION CAPSULE: Winnipeg Inner City Missions (WICM) a recognized indigenous ministry in The Presbyterian Church in Canada, has long understood the connection between stable housing and social well-being. When a person is safely and adequately housed, it becomes easier to find employment, develop healthy relationships and break habits of addiction. WICM operates a transitional housing complex coupled with an employment program to help give people in Winnipeg’s North End and inner city place from which to heal, grow and become who God has made them to be.

NOTE: Advent is close – Christmas is in our near future … The Boarding Homes team have been unable to hold their weekly visits since Covid. However, they do keep in touch and would like very much to continue the tradition of Christmas Dinner and gifts. Beaches congregation has been very generous in the past and we are hoping that this year – while everything is different – we can continue what we have started. So, we are looking for donations to fill gift bags. There are 15 men in the home so we need 15 of whatever item you can donate. Some ideas are hats, socks, boxes of chocolates, Tim Horton’s gift cards, etc. Cash donations are also welcome. We will do the shopping for you. Please contact Erin Sclisizzi if you have any questions. Items can be dropped off at the church during office hours. Deadline is December 15th. (fifteen scarves have already been donated)

ADVENT is coming……think about having your very own Advent Wreath with the candles. We can all light our candles at the same time each Sunday. It’s a time to be creative and make your own. For me, this year it’s a round silver tray with the five candles. As I can’t really get out to shop the candles will all be white…..I have a good imagination…..
