As you all know, through COVID, Worship has been a work in progress. Session, along with Worship and Arts, have been working toward a smooth introduction to our new kind of worship. Being aware of guidelines from Public Health and with a view to keeping all of us safe - In person worship will take place – at this point in time, probably once a month. You will be kept informed and if you have ideas to share, please contact your elder or the church office.

MISSION CAPSULE: In South Sudan, years of civil conflict have left much of the population without access to the food they need to live healthy lives. Rising food prices and loss of income due to COVID19 are only increasing this deficit. PWS&D is responding through Canadian Foodgrains Bank to provide 1,150 families with food assistance that will meet their nutritional needs. Additionally, families will receive farming inputs and fishing equipment so that, when the season is right for growing and fishing, they will have access to alternative sources of nutrition.

From the Refugee Committee: We have reason to believe that Hasan and family will arrive on November 11th. There is much to do between now and then, and beyond. If you are willing and able to be involved, and are not already on Klaas Kraay’s mailing list, please email him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Regular updates and requests for assistance will come via that mailing list.

We have an apartment and we have a month to get it ready and to move in everything that we have accumulated.

NOTE: Beaches has been blessed with a Student from Knox. His name is Kim Hyeongshin – he goes by Cole. He will be joining us for worship, prayer group and will be working with Katherine. Last Sunday he read one of the readings. We welcome him.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 12th, 2020 - Theology on Tap continues to gather and discuss at 7:00 via Zoom. For information for how to join in, contact Erin or M.J.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14TH, 2020 - Beaches Prayer Group meets via Telephone Conference at 9:30

STUPID STUFF!

My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were $70.00. Forget it, I thought, I can get one cheaper off the web.

Nineteen guys went to the cinema. The ticket lady asked “Why so many of you?” Buddy replies, “The film said 18 or over.”

I was at an ATM yesterday. A little old lady asked if I could check her balance, so I pushed her over.

Statistically, six out of seven dwarfs are not Happy.

My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30 am. Can you believe that! 2:30 am? Luckily for him I was still up playing my bagpipes.

Have a safe thanksgiving. MB
