MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... support the work of Justice Ministries. The Bible is full of stories of uprooted people. There are more than two hundred million migrants worldwide. In some provinces, the number of temporary foreign workers annually outnumber the number of new immigrants. Each year, thousands of people travel to Canada to do seasonal farm work. Why is such a journey made? How can we respond to our uprooted brothers and sisters? Eleven Presbyterians will travel to the Niagara region of southern Ontario June 24th - 26th, 2011 to learn about and meet with migrant farm workers and labour union representatives seeking answers to these questions. Most participants of this gathering were participants of the migrant mission trip to the US/Mexico border (in 2007 or 2009) and have committed to learn about migrant workers in Canada.

FYI: The Dance School will be holding their annual two week Dance Camp at the church during July. Once that is over we have a window of opportunity to paint the rear entrance off the driveway. We have been saving pennies to buy paint and have enough to get this done. Obviously, we are going to need some help. When you are at church, have a look at the space and think about perhaps giving up an hour or two to help transform that entrance.

More from Will Rogers .... on growing older.

Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it!

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for!

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've travelled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved!

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of HOW HARD Algebra was!

I don't know how I got over the hill without remembering when I was at the top!

Have a good week. - MB
