THURSDAY, MAY 12th, 2011 - "It's hard to make a comeback, when you haven't been anywhere!"

LOOKING BACK: Last weekend at the Beaches Coffee House a good time was had by all. We were visited by Sonny & Cher; we heard from Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor. We visited the House of the Rising Sun; were welcomed to Hell; enjoyed some little boy jokes; some down home Celtic music; a skit from Monty Python and a reading from Victor Borge. It was great - so look forward to another such evening in the Fall. Then we had the Mother's Day breakfast which was wonderful and a big success. Thank you to all who provided and did the work.

SUNDAY, MAY 15th, 2011 - Worship begins at 10:00 am - TEN O'CLOCK - this morning as we will gather along with other Beach Churches in Kew Beach Park for a special community service. We will hold our regular service frist and then travel to the park. You might bring a lunch.

MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... support Michelle Verwey as she works at the MIBE Graduate School for Nurses in Indore, India. Michelle is teaching community health nursing, supervising and guiding students during their clinical postings, and assisting in maintaining students' records. She is also part of the team tasked with setting up a health professional's learning center which promotes continuing education and life-long learning. This is proving to be a daunting task. Books dating back to the 1890's need to be sold or disposed of, and the newer books need to be assessed by faculty members to determine if the material is outdated. Library software has now been installed and Michelle has begun the enormous task of cataloguing the books. Please pray for Michelle, the novice librarian!

SATURDAY, JUNE 11th, 2011 - Beaches Women's Day Away at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Don Mills. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Mark your calendars - this will be a great day.

CHILDREN'S VIEW OF ANGELS -

Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows! - Jack, age 6.

Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead! Daniel, age 9.

When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. and when he lets out his breath again, somewhere there's a tornado! Reagan, age 10.

Angels have a lot to do and they keep very busy. If you lose a tooth an angel comes in through your window and leaves money under your pillow. Then when it gets cold, angels go south for the winter! Sara, age 6.

All angels are girls because they gotta wear dresses and boys didn't go for it! Antonio, age 9.

Have a good week - MB
