SUNDAY, MAY 8th, 2011 - MOTHER'S DAY - plan to enjoy a Mother's Day breakfast at Beaches. The plan is pancakes, sausages, bacon, orange juice, fruit and tea or coffee. If you are reading this and you are male, please contact Shane Taylor and volunteer to help. This could be a really fun morning......AND all the women will love you guys!!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 11th, 2011 - Rev. Dr. Herb Gale, Moderator, will be on an ecumenical panel reflecting on the ethical dimensions of climate change, and how churches are responding to this global crisis. The event takes place at Seeley Hall, Trinity College, U of T and begins at 6:30 pm. Dinner will not be provided. The event is free.

MONDAY, MAY 16th, 2011 - Knox College and Justice Ministries are pleased to host the 7th annual Crossing Cultures Together forum. The forum will run from 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm with dinner included. The forum provides space for Presbyterians to discuss the blessings and challenges of building more inclusive congregations. The keynote speaker is Ms. Ratna Omidvar, executive director of the Maytree Foundation. Ms. Omidvar will comment on the changing demographics in Ontario and share stories from Maytree's work in assisting public, private and non-governmental organizations develop leadership that reflects the ethnic and racial diversity of the communities they serve, Registration: $25.00

MISSION CAPSULES: Presbyterians Sharing ... supports Mike Birks, a young adult intern working in Nicaragua with The Council of Protestant Churches in Nicaragua. (CEPAD). CEPAD serves poor communities by promoting justice and peace and helping communities improve their quality of life. Mike is working with a new agricultural project in Jinotega. He is helping to set up a small company to sell certified good-quality, indigenous bean seeds to local farmers. Mike is helping create a marketing plan for the seeds, under the company name Demitierra Frijoles CEPAD. He is also responsible for tracking the results of this project to determine whether or not it will be a viable option to continue, and possibly expand, in the future.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 18th, 2011 - Women's Pot Luck Dinner will be held at Heather Crisp's. 7:00 pm
