MISSION CAPSULES: AIDS is now the leading cause of death among teenagers in the sub-Sahara in Africa, a region still devastated by the AIDS epidemic. The deaths can be avoided through prevention and treatment, education and healthcare. The Presbyterian Church in Canada through PWS&D supports HIV and AIDS programs that fight against stigma and discrimination ,teach and equip people to prevent the spread and the transmission between mother and child and provide home based care and medication to those with the disease.

NOTE: Calvary Baptist Church Food Bank is in need of help. I spoke to a worker there who said their demands from the community have increased by almost 50% and they regularly run out of the basic foods. Please think about donating something for them to add to their supplies.

CHRISTMAS GIVING: Laura Alary has written several children’s books – among them her Children’s introduction to Lent and this year; a book about Advent. We will have several of these books on hand for the next few Sundays. One of us will be there to take orders after worship.
