MISSION CAPSULES: Presbyterians Sharing … helps Toronto’s ARISE Ministry offer outreach, case management and pastoral care to victims of human trafficking and people involved in the sex trade. As part of this ministry, the Rev. Deb Rapport sets out once a week at midnight with one of two others to chat with women they meet and find out if they are ok. They hand out bags filled by volunteers with things a woman might want – including hand sanitizer, tissues, lip gloss, chocolate and emergency numbers – and even more important, a sign that someone cares. Deb shares, “ARISE Ministry is where hope lives! What a profoundly awe-inspiring experience to see hope take hold in someone’s life. Please pray for ARISE as we continue to plant, tend and care for the seeds of hope growing in the lives of individuals involved in the sex trade.”

NOTE: John Struthers cut the grass on Thursday this week – but we need a few people to volunteer to do it again before too long. We have two good mowers – an electric and a hand – you will notice that Bell Canada have pretty much destroyed our south garden on Avion by putting in a new B ell Box and driving their truck onto that space. They have promised to fix it at some point, but at the moment it’s just dirt. So we have to work around it – easy for Beaches people!
