MISSION CAPSULES: In Guatemala, the Franciso Coll School was constructed in a landfill amongst shelters built by families trying to make ends meet by searching through the dump. With the support of PWS&D Francisco Coll is providing vulnerable boys and girls with proper education in a secure environment. One student, Patricia Benavides, has recently graduated with an accounting certiicate and plans to pursue a career as a public accountant or an auditor. In a letter thanking PWS&D for it's support, she says, "You will always be in my prayers and I will remember that, thanks to you, I am a girl who finished her studies. Please know that you have changed the life of this young woman."

HISTORY:

Windsor Avenue - running from Fallingbrook to Victoria Park north of Queen. Was named for the House of Windsor, the British Royal Family's surname or their home at Windsor Castle.

Lee Avenue - Kew Street until 1883, Lee Avenue was named after a man who owned a large property in the area, with gardens stretching from Queen Street to the water. Walter Sutherland Lee (1837-1902) was the director of the Western Canada Loan and Savings Company and held many civic appointments. He served as the president of the Mechanics Institute (the forerunner of the Public Library) and chairman of the Toronto General Hospital. Leuty Street was named after his wife, Emma Mary Leuty.
