MISSION CAPSULES: In order to feed his family, Zamir Gul was forced to regularly leave behind his wife, mother and three children to work as a day labourer in another city. "My average earnings were not enough to feed my family," shares Zamir. "I was continuously stressed." Through a PWS&D program working to improve food security in Afghanistan, Zamir received basic verterinary training. He now does veterinary work, treating 80 - 90 animals a month. By ensuring livestock are healthy and properly cared for, he is proudly contibuting to food security in his community. Zamir says, "I am happy with my new occupation because I have an adequate income and people benefit from the treatment I am able to provide for their animals."

NOTE: Last Thursday evening, Will Greenley gave lessons on how to use the machine to clean the floor and then on Saturday, Michael Brett and John Struthers cleaned and oiled the narthex floor from the stairs to the area past the folding doors - the worst part - later in the day Jay Stryker dropped by and worked on the stairs. It looks so much better. Robin Allin provided coffee and muffins for them. You will all be hearing from me again as the area outside the kitchen and the area where the furniture is, still needs to be done - however - the next time we have the church to ourselves without tenants will be close to Christmas so you can all relax. However, have you seen the weeds at the front of the church on Glen Manor???

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what colour bubble bath is, the bubbles are always white?

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

Remember, a day without a smile is like a day without sunshine! AND a day without sunshine is ....night!

Have a good week - MB
