MISSION CAPSULES: The crisis in Syria has resulted in one of the largest refugee movements in modern times - over two million Syrians have sought refuge outside their borders. The Canadian government announced in 2013 it would resettle 1300 Syrian refugees from Jordan and Lebanon with the assistance of official sponsorship agreement holders. The Presbyterian Church in Canada with the assistance of Presbyterian congregations is able to help sponsor ten people to resettle in Canada. Meanwhile, Action Refugies Montreal (with support from PWS&D, Canadian Ministries and the Anglican Diocese of Montreal) is helping the Syrian community in Quebec to sponsor those in greatest need.

NOTE: If you took home some tea towels from the kitchen to wash - we really appreciate it, but could you bring them back please.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY, MAY 10th & 11th, 2014 - Spring plant sale at 14 Lyall Avenue 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. The Cantemus Singers and Michael Erdman's annual sale of perrenials to raise funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER ...

If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal!

A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is still fat!

A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years, while a tortoise doesn't run and does mostly nothing, yet lives for 150 years.

Exercise - I don't think so!

Have a good week - MB
