WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2012 - "The purpose of life is a life of purpose" !! Robert Byrne

The Wednesday evening Worship Services have come to a close. We thank all the musicians who helped out.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th, 2012 - Join us for worship at 10.30 - Rev. Matt McKay leading. We will celebrate communion.

MISSION CAPSULES: With no common area for students to gather in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment, the University of New Brunswick's Campus Ministry in Fredericton makes itself present to students in other ways. The ministry's chaplain, Rev. Kevin Burke, explains that most non-Christian students tend to have an aversion to any form of organized religion and are unlikely to seek out the services of a clergy person. Kevin finds creative ways to connect with students "where they are at", which includes the university's pub! Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... support UNB's campus ministry and other chaplaincies across Canada.

NOTE: During the summer months we were inspected by the Toronto Fire Marshall and he left us with a "to do" list which had to be completed within a set time. Elisabeth Grant saw to it that the list was completed and as a result we managed to pass his inspection. It turned out to be an expensive event and most of the changes are not obvious to the naked eye. However, you will notice most of our Fire Doors can no longer be propped open.

Also, our Dance School area, the old nursery and Sunday School areas were flooded with all the rain we have experienced. The Dance School had to lift their floor and there was lots of water in the old nursery space. It now seems to be in hand and hopefully we can get their floor in place for their fall season which begins next week. Again, an expensive event for us.

QUESTIONS FOR WHICH PEOPLE HAVE NO "GOOD" ANSWERS.

- If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?

- Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money?

- Why is it that no matter what colour bubble bath you use, the bubbles ae always white?

- Why is it that a plastic bag will not open from the end on your first try?

- How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

Have a good week - MB
