THURSDAY, MARCH 15th, 2012 - "Patience is the companion of wisdom" St. Augustine

FRIDAY, MARCH 16th, 2012 - Lent International Film Festival continues at 7:00 pm - tonight's movie is "The Help" starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. A young journalist wants to write about the experiences of African-American maids in the white households of the south during the height of the civil rights movement. Join us for this award winning film, free popcorn and great discussions.

NOTE: Matt McKay and Arnie Williamson spent most of yesterday sanding the back entrance floor in preparation for painting. The sand dust has continued to settle and it seems to be everywhere. So wear washables!!

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21st through SUNDAY, MARCH 25th, 2012 - "The Big Picture" - The Bible in Two Hours. Presented at the Walmer Centre Theatre, 188 Lowther Avenue, Bloor & Spadina. This is a stirring, epic drama that tells the story of God's relationship to humankind as it is told in the Bible. FRIDAY, MARCH 23rd/SATURDAY MARCH 24th, 2012 - Beaches Women's Day Away. Friday evening we gather at Mary Shantz's home, 230 Wineva for an introduction and treats. Saturday, we gather at 9:00 am - 7:00 pm at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Don Mills for a day away together. Our leader is Lynda Marshal and the theme is "Who is God - Really?! MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... help chaplaincies across Canada to support and reach out to students. McMaster University's Ecumenical chaplaincy provides counseling, advocates for students in difficulty, and offers Christian worship. It also provides opportunities for students to get involved in social justice, anti-violence, poverty and prayer groups. McMaster's Ecumenical Chaplain, The Rev. Dr. Carol Wood is a Presbyterian minister. She enjoys the diversity of the McMaster community and the opportunity to walk with students through the challenges of their university experieence.
