Welcome home!

My name is Matthew McKay and I am the Minister of Beaches Presbyterian Church. I am here for the same reason you are, perhaps. I was looking for a different kind of church and a different kind of church experience.

Just like you, I was searching for something. One Sunday, I came to Beaches for a visit and I was so deeply impressed by this creative, committed, open-minded, loving, and thinking group of progressive Christian people. Now I am a part of the community too, and I would love to welcome you and your family, just as my family and I have been welcomed. Beaches has been described as “the thinking church with the generous heart.” That is exactly what I have found and I invite you to come and find it too.

At Beaches you will find safe sacred space. At Beaches you will find nourishment and challenge through the heartbeat of Word and Sacrament. At Beaches you will find people who want to change our world for the better; people who want to honour God and promote the welfare of Godʼs people. At Beaches, you will find excellent music to empower our prayer. At Beaches, you will find a place where we honour and celebrate our differences. Most of all, though, I hope you will find a place to belong and a place where you may join in Christʼs ministry of reconciling love in the deep places of our world.
